• Image of Symbiosis (Three-toed Sloth & Slothmoth)

The symbiotic relationship I decided to illustrate is actually incredible... here it is:
-Three-toed sloths have little vertical crevices in each of their hairs that allow for the accumulation of water.
-Slothmoths hang out on the sloths. Their droppings add nitrogen to the water in the sloth hair, creating algae!
-Three-toed sloths depend on eating the algae off their fur to have a more complete nutritional diet.
-The sloth will climb down to defecate only once a week, but when it does- the moths will lay their eggs on it.
-The new moths will fly up to the canopies to find another sloth host.
